November 11 - 15, 2002 - 55th Annual meeting of GFCI in Xél-Ha, Mexico.
October 3, 2002 - Students from the advanced marine science class at Port St. Lucie High School
and their teacher, Mr. Eric Moore, visit Harbor Branch to learn more about
conch aquaculture.
September 2002 - Mrs. Teresa Sullivan at Dan McCarty Middle School and her students begin their "Conch in the Classroom" experiments.
September 3 - 6, 2002 - Dr. Kevan Main of Mote Marine Laboratory presents "Culturing marine fishes and invertebrates for stock enhancement in recirculating systems" at Aquamar Internacional - 6th Latin American Conference in Cancun, Mexico.
August 2002 - Scientists at FFWCC collect queen conch egg masses from the Florida Keys and send them to be raised at the Harbor Branch conch hatchery.
Summer 2002 - Volunteers from The Nature Conservancy assist FWC-FMRI in collecting, tagging,
and translocating non-reproductive nearshore queen conch to offshore breeding aggregations in an effort

July 2, 2002 - Living Science Teacher Workshop held at Harbor Branch.
June 2002 - The CHN receives grant money from the Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund to test growout facilities for juvenile queen conch and to assist with public outreach and education programs.
April 16, 2002 - ACTED division of HBOI conducts its Tropical Aquaculture class and introduces the students to queen conch.
March 26-27, 2002 - Scientists from Harbor Branch and FFWCC collect adult queen conch from the Florida Keys. There were 24 females and 17 males collected and placed into two broodstock tanks at Harbor Branch.

January 2002 - The Conch Heritage Network received grant money from Project AWARE which will assist with the building of two queen conch broodstock tanks at HBOI.
